Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (aka PLAR, PLA, or RPL)
PLAR is a well-defined method of assessing non-formal, in-formal and non-traditional learning that has taken place outside of formal post-secondary education. We believe significant learning happens through many forms such as non-credit certificate programs, seminars, conferences, professional development and personal study. Our PLAR process helps you identify and articulate specific learning. Translated to portfolios this learning can then be evaluated by faculty for consideration for academic credit and applied toward your degree.
