What makes up a BA degree?
A Bachelor of Arts degree in leadership consists of 122 semester hours (sh). The degree completion program, in which this major is offered, is based on a student entering with an AA (Associate of Arts) degree or equivalent (i.e. diploma) of 60 sh.
In the spirit of ‘no student left behind’, students without this base need not worry and can still complete their degree with us as our Advisors work with them to develop a personalized Learning Plan. Check out our Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) to find out how to translate non-formal learning into transcript credit.
A maximum of 75 sh may be transferred into TWU, leaving a minimum of 47 sh required to complete a degree. Depending upon the selection of transfer credit, students may be able to complete their degree in as little as 18 months. Adults with previous TWU credit may only need a minimum of 42 sh, depending on their course distribution.
Everyone’s degree completion plan is unique.
By combining your previous formal learning (college and university transcripts) with non-formal, in-formal and non-traditional learning (converted to university credits through PLAR), your Advisor calculates what additional electives and liberal arts - in addition to the Leadership Major - would be required to complete your degree.
